a.k.a. DESCRIPTION OF THE ‘new’ XRWC
The ‘new’ XRWC may be considered to consist of:
1) a group of former Xerox employees that want to have a limited number of social
events or gatherings during the year
2) a 'volunteer group' or ‘committee’ that works to make the gatherings happen
3) a web site and newsletter that allows communication to members about events
4) an email list that is the primary means of communication about events and for newsletter distribution
5) an address list for communications by U.S. Mail for those unable to use email
We will consider ourselves to be a 'social club' of members. We will continue to use the name for the club as the 'Xerox Retirees West Club'. Those who wish to continue their affiliation with this club will be notified of events or activities that the committee sets up for club members’ participation. Attendance is optional.
We will continue to assess minimal dues to cover the costs of Newsletter mailings and the maintenance of the web site. Initially funds remaining from the prior organization will be used to cover these costs.
No candy or gifts will be included in the future XRWC Christmas luncheons. Other events or activities will be on a pay as you go basis for those who wish to attend.
The 'original' XRWC members, at the 2008 Christmas luncheon, approved dissolving the 'original' XRWC. The remaining funds will be used primarily for a 'deposit' to allow getting a site guaranteed for the annual Holiday luncheon and for the website to be continued and funded. Some money will be used for U.S. Mail distribution of the newsletter.
The 'volunteers group' will initially be some of the 'original' XRWC board members. Replacements will be sought as needed. 'Volunteers' must be willing to have their email address and phone number made known to members.
